FAQ
Here are some answers to questions
we are typically asked regarding
our Wedding Videography Services.
What is documentary style filmmaking?
Our professional videographers are trained as documentary filmmakers. This is a recent term that has been thrown around loosely in the last couple of years due to the increased interest in documentary filmmaking. We are actually documentary filmmakers who do this professionally for a living 365 days a year. We are professionally trained in this art form that has been around since the development of filmmaking. Our award winning productions have been seen on CBS, MTV, RI-PBS, FOX News Channel, The Weather Channel, Film Festivals, Local & Regional News Channels, the Worldwide Web, and television sets around the globe. We have received grants from government, grants, local and private sources for the documentary work we have produced. We understand the technical and artistic aspects of documentary filmmaking through the many award winning documentaries we have produced throughout the years.
Do you use lights on your cameras?
No, we do not use a light on our camera. Our cameras are able to record in very low-light conditions and do not need additional light for a high quality picture. That being said some receptions sites turn their lights down very low. This can degrade the quality of the image slightly. We believe this is the trade off for placing a light on our camera. The light is very obtrusive and may take away from the ambience of your Wedding Day. This is why we do no use additional lighting. If asked we can use a camera light if you would like.
We're not sure about getting a Wedding Video?
We get this question a lot and cannot tell you how many times we get "I can't believe we even thought for a second of not getting a Wedding Video". We produce classic Wedding Videos. This means we do not use cheesy effects and utulize a classic filmmaking style when filming and editing your Wedding Video. This means your video will be treasured for generations to come. A video is not only a documentation of the prepartaions and fruits of your labors, but a special moment in time to be relived forever. Your Wedding Day is a special day filled with friends and family at one place and time. A Wedding Video is a family heirloom that can be treassured with your families for generations to come.
We hired a photographer, why do we need a videographer?
Photography and Videography are two separate and distinct art forms. The two forms do not interfere with one another in fact they very much compliment each other. Video captures the sights, sounds, and motions of your Wedding Day. Simple nuances as facial gestures and actions show the day as it actually happens in full motion. Pictures can actually alter the truth of your Wedding Day. This is simply not possible to capture with photography. If you picture giving your vows video will record the full motion and audio fo your vows. Photography simply does not have this capability. If you think of a toast, a picture merely shows someone giving a toast. The video captures the actual toast as it is being said. Video captures your Wedding Day at 24 frames per second with audio as if you were right there at the Wedding.
Do you interview our guests?
No, unless requested, we do not interview your guest for any reason. Usually the guests who would like to say something to the bride and groom come to us. We do not put your guests on the spot, make them, "act" out scenerios, or point the camera at them and wait for them to say or do something. We are there to document your Wedding Day as it happens, therefore we do not alter the natural occurrences of the day.

Are you Unobtrusive?
Yes we are unobtrusive. We are trained as documentary filmmakers who are there to document a special moment in time in high quality digital video. We do not ask your guests for interviews, put your guests on the spot, make them, "act" out scenerios, or point the camera at them and wait for them to say or do something.
